Day 1 – Sleeping in Belmonte

Day 2 – Sleeping in Belmonte, Caria, Sortelha

Discover the beauty of Portugal’s history by visiting the charming Vila of Belmonte, where you can explore the historical center, Castle, Museum of the Discoveries, and Olive Oil museum. Take a leisurely walking tour through the center to fully immerse yourself in this wonderful destination’s rich culture and heritage. And don’t miss the opportunity to visit the stunning Medieval Village of Sortelha, where you can experience a walking tour that will transport you back in time. Day 3 – Sleeping in Monfortinho Castelo Novo, Monsanto

Schedule: 9:00h

Embark on a journey through time as you explore the rich history of human presence in this location, stretching back to the Paleolithic era. Discover the legacy of D. Afonso Henriques, a conqueror who granted this area to the Order of the Knights Templar after freeing it from the Moors in 1165. Walk through the historic village of Monsanto and delight in a private performance by ladies playing the Adufe, a fascinating musical instrument with Arab origins. Be sure to visit Idanha-a-Velha, one of the oldest and most charming villages of the Historical Villages of Portugal. Its history dates back to the 1st century BC when it was called “Egitânia.” Romans and Muslims controlled it until Christians recaptured it in the 13th century.

Day 4 – Sleeping in Lisbon Monsanto, Idanha-a-Velha, Lisbon

Join us on a journey through time as we explore Monsanto, a location with a rich history dating back to the Paleolithic period. We’ll witness the enduring legacy of D. Afonso Henriques, who conquered Monsanto from the Moors in 1165 and granted it to the Order of the Templars. Our visit will be an unforgettable experience as we witness the beauty of the village’s typical granite houses and the enchanting melodies of the Adufe, a musical instrument of Arab origin played by local ladies.

As we make our way back to Lisbon, we’ll stop at Idanha-a-Velha, one of the oldest Historical Villages of Portugal, dating back to the 1st century BC. We’ll discover the village’s rich heritage and the legacy of the Romans and Muslims who once ruled there. Finally, we’ll return to Lisbon safely, enriched by the memories of our journey through time.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel your trip, penalties may apply based on the total trip price.

  • Suppose you cancel up to 30 days before your scheduled arrival. In that case, no penalties will be applied except for certain items such as entrance tickets, third-party activities, hotel bookings, and transaction fees. Each provider’s policy will be evaluated individually in these cases.
  • If you cancel between 30 and 15 days before your arrival, a penalty of 20% will be applied.
  • If you cancel less than 15 days before your scheduled arrival, a penalty of 100% will be applied. However, Real Embrace Portugal sometimes reserves the right to consider a partial refund.

Before you enter into a contract with us, we reserve the right to change any of the facilities or services described in our brochure or website. We also reserve the right to cancel the booking do to weather and/or other conditions. Any changes are usually very minor and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. If a major change, such as change in departure time, becomes necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible your tours begins. When a major change or cancellation occurs you will have the choice of accepting the change of arrangements, purchasing another available tour from us, or cancelling your tour. If booking is cancelled we will refund all payments made directly to us in respect of the tour price. We will not refund any personal expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking such as flight payments for land-only tours, travel insurance, equipment purchases, visas, vaccinations etc.
